Joan Tarbell Plato

Joan's Solo Show "A River Runs Through" at the Artists' Gallery of Ellicott City is  from Aug 31 - Sept 25 2022 with an Art Talk and reception On Sept 24 at 3pm. This show reflects Plato's love of water, rocks and Ellicott City through her landscapes, interiors and still lifes.  Her poetry motivates her works and is displayed in her original poetry showbook which also includes her series photography. 

The Baltimore Watercolor Society juried Plato's painting "Pear Journey" into their 2022 MidAtlantic Show. This painting received an Honorable Award of $400.

Joan's painting  "Burgeoning Spring" was juried into the Columbia Art Center Show in 2022.

An acrylic painting "Pear Journey" by Plato was juried into ISEA's 2022 Show  "Utterly Unfathonable and Powerfully Profound" Online Exhibit.

The annual Art Howard County 2021  has juried Joan's artwork entitled "Cape Day" into their show which will be on display at the HCAC October 16 through November 27,2021.

The International Society of Experimental Artists has chosen Joan's Artwork entitled "The Journey During COVID"  for its 30th Annual ISEA International Arts Exhibition, INNOVATIONS. Exhibition will open September 3 through October 24, 2021 on Mackinac Island, Michigan. 

Joan is now a Signature Member of ISEA!

Columbia Arts Center  is hosting an invitational theme 

"Visionary Women"  March 8-29, 2020

Joan's painting "Motherhood" is part of the show.

Joan's painting "HeronWorld" was juried (34 out of 400 entries).  The show runs  from Nov 2 - Dec 14, 2018 

(the Juror is Cara Ober , founding editor and publisher of  Baltimore's Art & Culture Magazine)

The  International Society of Experimental Artists (ISEA).

Joan  had one of her artworks juried into their 27th Annual Show in Newport, Oregon Sept. 7th - Oct. 28th 2018
